Earlier this year a 4-year-old boy was murdered in Louisville, KY. His case remains unsolved though last week Police suggested an arrest was close to happening.
“They have to consider, it’s a very poor family, working probably, who knows how many hours, and not being able to speak the language, the cultural difference,” says Al Dia publisher Jose Donis. “I understand it from that side.”
Donis says his readers identify with Ivan’s family. He estimates 50,000 people read Al Dia and that 65 percent of them are illegal immigrants.
Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
