New Jersey state police yesterday hurriedly canceled an amber alert issued minutes earlier for a 7-year-old Camden girl who had been reported to be in her mother’s new car when a carjacker jumped in and sped off.Police found the girl safe in her charter school classroom – less than two blocks from city police headquarters – soon after the statewide amber alert had been issued. She had been at the ECO Charter School all day, authorities said, and was unaware of the frantic hunt.
A 17-year-old girl was the subject of a statewide crime alert on Monday, alleging that she had been kidnapped at gunpoint from Robbinsdale Armstrong High School early Sunday turned up unharmed Monday night.
Lakesha White, 25, of Camden was charged Tuesday with false public alarm and false reports to law enforcement. She was released on her own recognizance, police said.

A Chester County mother whose alleged abduction of her 4-year-old daughter, Alexis Roadside, led to an Amber alert was taken into custody yesterday in Florida. Authorities said Veronica Faith Henry Roadside, 41, of West Caln Township, was arrested by Miami-Dade police.
