Last year Bonni Frederick was murdered in Kentucky after taking a child for a visitation to the mother. You would have thought it might have prompted reviews in policies nationwide. However, in Washington State it is still a common practice. Though this story did not end in tragedy, it still makes you question why changes in policies are not being made.
In Washington State a mother became concerned after her foster child was not returned after a visit with the biological father. Apparently the Child Protection Service worker returned the child to the wrong daycare.Annette Lewis says somehow CPS misplaced her foster daughter and she had no way of getting a hold of the agency. Fearful the baby was in danger she called 911 only to be told her report didn’t qualify as an emergency.
