Some states call it a Silver Alert but in Delaware it apparently is Gold…
DOVER, Del. (AP) Delaware Gov. Ruth Ann Minner has signed legislation expanding the state’s Amber Alert system.
The program, designed to notify citizens about missing children, will add a Gold Alert component to protect people over 60 and the disabled. Delawareans believed to be suicidal are also included in the Gold Alert system.
State Sen. Bruce Ennis, who sponsored the bill, calls it a logical next step.
Minner also recently signed a bill which gives the lead law enforcement agency in an Amber Alert case the option of using the Delaware Information Analysis Center as a resource.
